Named for the one that got away.

Like Melville’s white whale, the perfect bar is the thing worth chasing — worth building. Partners Daniel Yang, Ceferin Oliva, Walter Cortez and Evan Hosaka spent their careers in the finest rooms on the Strip before opening one of their own on Fremont East, in partnership with Sam Ross, creator of the Penicillin and the Paper Plane. A dream: bartender-built, community-rooted, for guests who believe a great night starts with a great drink.

Our room is built on kintsugi: broken pottery mended in gold, so the cracks become the most beautiful part. Stone, leather, warm wood, golden light — beauty in imperfection.

The Captain’s Quarters is a hidden speakeasy inside White Whale — whale stencils on the brick, a door easy to miss. Inside, there’s no menu: bartenders craft cocktails tailored to your taste, one guest at a time. Quieter than Fremont, closer than you’d think.
